Albany, NY (October 7) 4:00 p.m.— The American Red Cross of Northeastern New York (ARCNENY) has given emergency aid to two families, representing 13 people, after a fire at their First Street homes in South Troy this morning.

Disaster Action Team volunteers met with the two families affected at ARCNENY offices in Albany this afternoon, and have provided temporary shelter, and financial assistance for food and clothing.

In the coming days and weeks, Red Cross volunteers will continue to work with those affected by today’s fire to provide more aid if needed, and help them develop a post-disaster plan to get started on the road to recovery.

October is Home Fire Prevention Month.
