Chapter Receptionist

If you enjoy meeting and talking with new people and have excellent customer service skills, then our volunteer receptionist position is waiting for you.

College Intern Program
College students have the opportunity to apply classroom theory in a professional setting in many different fields. Interns are assigned to projects or departments depending on their areas of interest and are given the opportunity to participate in all departmental functions.

Community Education Volunteers
Prepare yourself and your community for unexpected emergencies. Train to be a presenter of our Get Ready-Be Safe program. It is more important than ever that everyone be prepared for possible emergencies. Make a difference by training your community now to prepare for disasters.

Committee Event Volunteers
Do you like to be out and about? Ever planned a party? Join us for the fun and intensity of planning our annual Fire + Ice Gala, or join our "2010 Committee," which will plan our Chapter´s 100th anniversary activities in 2010.

Disaster Action Volunteers
Join the Chapter’s Disaster Action Team (DAT) and respond to local disasters within the Chapter’s service area. And, you can train to assist with disaster response locally, regionally, nationally or even internationally. Volunteer jobs include: Individual Client Services, Community Services, Partner Services, Information Management Support Services, Material Support Services, Staff Services and Organization Support. All volunteer training is free and provided by ARCNENY.

Health and Safety and Aquatic Instructors
Health and safety courses provide valuable lifesaving training and volunteer instructors are an important part of the American Red Cross fabric in our community. Courses include CPR, First Aid, Water Safety, and Lifeguarding.

Long Term Care Ombudsman Program
Are you a good listener? Are you able to work on a problem until it is solved? Are you non-judgmental? Fair? The Ombudsman Program offers the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life and see the difference right now. Ombudsmen volunteers assist residents of nursing homes, assisted living and adult day health care facilities and provide a voice for those who are unable to speak for themselves.

Office and Administrative Volunteers
Office and administrative volunteers get to perform a variety of tasks. Assistance is needed in answering telephones, copying, data entry, record keeping, stuffing and sealing for large mailings, printing, and other general office duties.

Registration Coordinator or Refreshment Server
Would you enjoy visiting businesses, schools, churches and other organizations in your community? Would you like to meet new people, learn new skills, and have the satisfying feeling that you are making a difference? Consider volunteering in our Blood Services Department.
