Telephone Reassurance
As we grow older, we need more frequent health care, and sometimes, more one-on-one attention. In an effort to remain independent, many seniors look for assistance that will provide a sense of security. One option seniors and families of elderly parents turn to is a telephone reassurance program.
The Telephone Reassurance Program is a service offered to seniors living in Albany County. Volunteers make daily telephone calls to an elderly person’s home to ensure they are safe.
The telephone reassurance caller provides gives seniors security knowing that someone will check on their safety and well being each day. The telephone reassurance caller is a friendly voice who cares, is there to listen, and can provide a type of companionship that the senior may depend on each day.
The Telephone Reassurance Program is provided free of charge to seniors in the Albany County area. For information contact Edie Sennett, Program coordinator, at (518) 458-8111 ext. 5114 or via e-mail.
